During a Sabbath school song service in a primary class at our church this past spring, one of the kids requested “Soon and Very Soon.” The leader, right before he started to play the opening chords, wanted to be supportive of the class member so he said, “Oh, yes! Good choice! I love to sing this one when I go to retirement homes.” He didn’t realize how that sounded until the handful of adults in the back of the class couldn’t hold back and chuckled.

Sermon in Seven
“Thy will be done on earth as . . . in heaven.” We say those words on divine instruction, as directed by Jesus Himself. Let’s remind ourselves, then, of the awesome consequence of our words—not out of conceit, but in consecrated consciousness:
I am God’s appointed spokesperson on earth.
