Giving light to our world—GLOW—is an outreach initiative in numerous North American Division conferences based on the concept of church members carrying Adventist literature with them wherever they go and handing it out—free of charge—at every opportunity. Here are two short stories of lives touched by GLOW:

Story 1 
While riding on a bus, an Adventist church member in Arizona felt impressed to give a GLOW tract to the stranger sitting next to her. Being shy, she hesitated at first, but when the bus came to a stop, she knew it was “now or never.” She mustered up her courage and handed him a tract entitled “Does God Care That I’m Hurting?” When the man looked at it, he said, “I was just praying that God would give me a sign if He didn’t want me to commit suicide, and I think this is it.”

Story 2 
An Adventist pastor and Bible worker were confronted on the street by a frantic woman who directed them to the back of her house. Her son, Joseph, was about to commit suicide. They found him in tears and tried to console him as best they could. The Bible worker then handed Joseph a “Does God Care That I’m Hurting?” GLOW tract. He began to sob even harder.

“You don’t understand!” Joseph finally said. “This is the third time I’ve been given this tract in the past three days!”
Since then Joseph has attended a Bible college and has brought eight of his friends to church. He is not only alive but is learning how to win others to Christ.
