Let’s Pray

Poem
Because life’s days are numbered,
No matter what they be,
I must secure the best from those
Apportioned unto me.
 
For yesterday’s behind me,
Tomorrow’s held in store,
Today is all the time I have,
For there may not be more.
 
How shall I gain the time,
The moments that were spent
Pursuing daydreams vaporous,
On which my soul was bent?
 
To focus on past folly,
To stumble on regret,
Would only bring discouragement;
Instead, I must repent.
 
Then looking onward, upward,
Beholding Him who died,
I dedicate the moments left,
To Jesus crucified.

Adventist Life
My son Caden had just turned 4 when he saw a picture of someone writing with their finger on an iPad. Caden’s mouth dropped open, and he exclaimed, “Mom, look, it must be Jesus!” Caden had recently learned about God writing the Ten Commandments with His finger.

We were in the car when my 4-year-old son, Jon, said to his sister, “Don’t you wanna share your ice cream with me?”

“No, not really!” said 6-year-old Maya.

Jon replied, “But you’re supposed to do unto others as you want them to do to you!”

Maya had an answer: “But sometimes you don’t share with me.”

“Don’t do evil for evil!” concluded Jon. I couldn’t help laughing from the front seat.
