Giving light to our world—GLOW—is an outreach initiative in multiple NAD conferences based on the concept of church members carrying Adventist literature with them wherever they go and handing it out, free of charge, at every opportunity. Here are two short stories of lives touched by GLOW:

Story 1
A church member in Idaho was having routine maintenance done on his car when he felt impressed to give a GLOW tract titled “An Ancient Prophecy Reveals the Future,” to one of the workers at the auto shop. “It was as though for a few seconds he was oblivious to everything else around him as he pored over it,” the member said. The worker thanked the member for the tract and explained that he had been reading the book of Revelation but had not always understood it. The member shared a little more about the Bible, and then the church member’s mom, who was with him, invited the auto shop worker to sign up for Bible studies from Discover Bible School. The worker signed up on the spot.
 
Story 2
While visiting the zoo, two church members were approached by a man whom they described as looking like “a gangster.” He asked to borrow a pen to write a number down before his cell phone died. The members handed him a pen, and then as the man began to walk away they offered him a GLOW tract. After looking at it, the man asked, “Can you send these to my family in jail?” The members assured him that they could. After further conversation the man expressed interest in taking Bible studies and also asked for copies of other GLOW tracts.
