Giving light to our world—GLOW—is an outreach initiative in multiple North American Division conferences based on the concept of church members carrying Adventist literature with them wherever they go and handing it out—free of charge—at every opportunity. Here are two short stories of lives touched by GLOW:
 

Story 1
An Adventist pastor in Bakersfield, California, was disc golfing with some friends when the group found two GLOW tracts stuffed into one of the holes. Before the pastor could do or say anything, one of his friends who is not an Adventist picked up the tracts and tucked one into his bag to read later. “I’m praying that he reads it and calls for more,” the pastor says. “He doesn’t know it came from my church.” What a testimony it would be if a person accepts Jesus as his Savior because someone GLOWed a disc golf course!

Story 2
Stephen works at a hotel in San Diego as a janitor. One day as he was in the lobby of the hotel he happened to overhear the receptionist attempting to comfort someone on the phone who apparently had lost a loved one.  The receptionist was having difficulty knowing what to say, but when she told the person, “Don’t worry; God cares,” it reminded Stephen of his GLOW tracts. He immediately fetched his tracts and gave the receptionist the one titled “Does God Care That I’m Hurting?” When she saw it, she burst into tears, and then read the entire tract to the person on the phone. Later she asked for more. The receptionist is now passing them out to customers as they check in at her desk.
