Giving light to our world—GLOW—is an outreach initiative in multiple North American Division conferences based on the concept of church members carrying Adventist literature with them wherever they go and handing it out, free of charge, at every opportunity. Here are two short stories of lives touched by GLOW:

 

 

 

Story 1 A man named James worked at an office in which several after-hours thefts had been occurring. With this in mind, each evening as James left the office he set out an array of GLOW literature on his desk, thinking that if thieves wanted to steal something, they would be very welcome to take his GLOW tracts. James soon became disappointed, however, because none of his tracts were ever missing. Then one night as he was working late at the office the janitor approached him and asked, “Are you the guy who leaves those tracts on your desk at night?” James said yes, and the janitor responded, “Thank you for leaving those out. I read them at night. In fact, I’ve now read every one of them, and they are really good.” Even though the thieves weren’t reading the tracts, the janitor certainly was. Let’s continue to place church literature where the public can easily obtain them and read about Jesus and His soon coming.

 

Story 2 A man named Jimmy, a truck driver from Tennessee with a thick Southern accent, recently called the GLOW office to order more literature. He told them, “When I give out the tracts, I like to put them right into people’s hands.” He then explained that when he stops at rest areas on the road he shows people an array of GLOW tracts and then asks them which one they would like. He even offers the tracts as a set. Jimmy, who is not a member of the Adventist Church, ended the conversation by ordering more literature.
