“Children and youth may come to Jesus with their burdens and perplexities, and know that He will respect their appeals to Him, and give them the very things they need. Be earnest; be resolute.”

Two little girls were talking about God. One said: “I know that God does not love me. He could not care for such a teeny, tiny girl as I am.”

“Dear me,” said the other girl, “don’t you know that that is just what God is for—to take care of teeny, tiny little girls just like us who can’t take care of themselves?”

“Is He?’’ asked the first one. “I didn’t know that. Then I don’t need to worry anymore, do I?”

When a friend of our little church gave us a large Christmas cactus, she remarked: “This plant is several years old but has never bloomed. I think it will make some nice greenery for your chapel.”

But see what happened. These photos (above) were taken at Christmastime the first year after the plant was “taken into fellowship”! It has consistently bloomed copiously every Christmas season, brightening what is often a rather dark season of very short days and deep cold for each of the 10 years since we brought it into the sanctuary.

It would be wonderful if every visitor or new member coming to our church could “bloom” for Jesus as well as this plant!
