He served as principal of Calexico Mission School, president of Inca Union College in Peru, president of Bolivia Adventist College, pastor and teacher at Antillean Union College in Puerto Rico. He is survived by his daughter, Marti Butcher; brother, Warren; and one grandson.
MOORE, Arthur Bryson—b. Nov. 17, 1918, Los Angeles, Calif.; d. Apr. 15, 2010, Loma Linda, Calif. He served at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He is survived by daughters Bonnie Reynolds and Barbara Kinney; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
PEARSON, Rex—b. 1920, Durban, South Africa; d. Dec. 12, 2009, Cheltenham, England. He served as a teacher at Kamagambo College, Kenya, and at Malamulo. He was principal of Rusangu Secondary School in Zambia, and dean of men at Helderberg College, South Africa. He also served in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe; the Congo; and Burundi. He is survived by his second wife, Elvira; son, Michael; daughter, Valarie Hake; and five grandchildren.
SANTEE, Enid Irene Grossman Cortez—b. Sept. 30, 1930, Rolla, Kans.; d. Jan. 2, 2010, Euless, Tex. She served on the General Conference Review Committee. She is survived by daughters
Theresa and Linda.
SCHMIDT, Harold H.—b. Feb. 2, 1910, Scottsbluff, Nebr.; d. Jan. 2, 2010, Altamonte Springs, Fla. He served as a pastor in the Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, and Florida conferences. He was president of the Florida and Southern Union conferences. He also served as a part-time chaplain at Florida Hospital, Orlando. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Kirstein. He is survived by his son, Lane; daughters
Barbara Fowler and Beverly Garner;
sisters Betty Beam and Florence Grose; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
SIMMONS, J. Elizabeth West—b. Oct. 24, 1922, Roanoke, Va.; d. Aug. 10, 2009, Rushville, Ill. She served as assistant director of nurses at the Washington Sanitarium; nursing instructor at
Pacific Union College, and in-service education instructor at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. She also served with her husband in the Nevada-Utah and Illinois conferences. She is survived by
her husband, Earl; and daughters Leah, Hannah, and Anne.
SLATE, Sarah J.—b. May 25, 1921, Gaston County, N.C.; d. Dec. 16, 2009, Davidson County, N.C. She served as a teacher in California. She was also an assistant registrar at Atlantic Union

WILLIAMS, Benjamin J.—b. Jan. 13, 1917; d. Nov. 12, 2009, Portland, Oreg. He served as Assam Training School principal, Southern Asia Division publishing secretary, Northeast Union Conference president, and Southern Asia Division financial adviser. He was administrator of Fletcher Hospital and Monument Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Ada Blanche Noble; son, Bruce; daughters Violet Grecian and Jacque; and sisters Sarah Case and Dorothy Barnes. He was preceded in death by his daughter Blanche Williams Ford.
