BUSH, Francis—b. Nov. 26, 1912, Middletown, N.Y.; d. July 16, 2009, Fla. He served as a pastor in several states, and as youth and education director
for the Illinois Conference, and assistant ministerial secretary for the Southern New England Conference. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Gracelyn. He
is survived by his wife Shirley; sons Donald and Brian; daughters Karen
Day, Janet Pinero, and Diane Ledbetters; sister, Nancy Peterson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
DRAKE, Loretta P.—b. Oct. 11, 1910, Alberta, Canada; d. Aug. 21, 2009, Woodland, Calif. She served as an office assistant in the North Pacific Union Conference and later in the General Conference retirement office.
DOUGLAS, Kae (Esther)—b. July 17, 1933, Bowdoinham, Maine; d. July 2, 2009, N.Y. She served the church in South Lancaster, Massachusetts; Honolulu, Hawaii; Sanford, Maine; and Lincoln, Maine. She is survived by a son, Roy Pendleton; a daughter, Ronna Leigh Slongwhite; sisters Bertha Deveno, Helen Scott, and Mary and Roxanne Profenno; brothers Merle Douglas and George and Freemont Pease; and four grandchildren.
FOWLER, Annabell I.—b. May 26, 1916, Leetonia, Pa.; d. Sept. 12, 2009, Zephyrhills, Fla. She assisted her husband, a singing evangelist and pastor, as he served in various areas. She is survived by a son, Donald; a daughter, Sylvia Coggin; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
JIMENEZ, Angel—b. San Sebastian, Puerto Rico; d. July 1, 2009, Avon Park, Fla. He served as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Walker Memorial Hospital and Florida Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Emma Palenzuela; sons A. David, Edgar, Ronald, and Robert; brother, Julio; sisters Leonides Vicente and Carmin and Luz Jimenez; and nine grandchildren.
LINDSTROM, Paul R.—b. Sept. 6, 1921, Aberdeen, Wash.; d. Aug. 7, 2009, Pasco, Wash. He served at Portland Sanitarium and at Hinsdale Hospital in Chicago. He served in the Montana Conference as ABC manager, trust services director, stewardship director, and auditor, and in the Upper Columbia Conference as a trust officer. He also served as a pastor for the Ile Ife Hospital church in Nigeria, and as secretary-treasurer of the mission in Ghana. He was predeceased by
two wives, Jessie Sankey and Teresa Holland. He is survived by his wife Donna; and stepchildren Len Burns and Teresa Myers.
MAXWELL, Spencer Lawrence—b. Jan. 13, 1925, Watford, England; d. Oct. 27, 2009, Ellicott City, Md. He was a pastor; author; and editor of The Signs of the Times, Primary Treasure, and Our Little Friend. He was founding editor of Junior Guide magazine, and he wrote the Pathfinder Field Guide. He is survived by daughters Heidi Maxwell-Timberlake and Heather Maxwell-Groth; and six grandchildren.
ROWE, Kermise Eugene—b. Nov. 23, 1934, Jamestown, Ky.; d. July 31, 2009, Collegedale, Tenn. He served as principal/educator at Auburn Adventist Academy, Gem State Academy, and Collegedale Academy. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; daughters Susan Brown and Sandy Keele; brothers Berlin and Philip; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
RUE, Grace—b. July 28, 1910, Anaheim, Calif.; d. July 13, 2009, Paradise, Calif. She served in Korea with her husband at the Seoul Sanitarium and Hospital as an administrator and director of the school of nursing. She also established and managed an orphanage after the Korean War. She is survived by her sister, Audrey Cardey; stepson, George H. Rue, Jr.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
STEINER, Nellie G.—b. Aug. 21, 1925, Wadsworth, Ohio; d. Dec. 28, 2008, Akron, Ohio. She served with her husband while he pastored churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, and Massachusetts. She taught kindergarten and first grade at Browning Elementary School, South Lancaster, Massachusetts, for 18 years. She is survived by her husband, Stanley; and daughter, Elizabeth Vrungos.
SYMMONDS, Charles (Chuck)—
b. Mar. 19, 1938, Peoria, Ill.; d. May 19, 2009, Bayonet Point, Fla. He participated in several Maranatha projects, and installed a peanut butter factory at a school in Roorkee, India. He is survived by his wife, Janet; son, David; daughter, Deanna
Kestory; and two grandchildren.
WILLISON, Clark M.—b. Nov. 12, 1912, Hickory Corners, Mich.; d. Mar. 30, 2009, Orange Beach, Ala. He served as manager of the Indiana Academy farm, and as business manager of Canadian Union College. He was education superintendent and youth director for the Indiana Conference, Illinois Conference, and Northern Union Conference. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anne. He is survived by his wife Ada; son, Robert; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepson, Leighton Holley; stepdaughters Jeannine Fuller and Marguerite Ripley; 10 step-grandchildren; and 19 step-great-grandchildren.
